All-Ireland Wheelchair Hurling Blitz - IT Sligo on Saturday 14th October.
We were delighted to be able to attend the M. Donnelly GAA Wheelchair Hurling All-Ireland Tournament on Saturday and really enjoyed the opportunity to meet the Ulster Team and Coaches and to present them with their new Shane Mulholland Foundation sponsored Training tops.
We were very glad to have the chance to witness first hand how competitive and exciting the sport is and want to congratulate all four provinces for a fantastic tournament. Ulster GAA enjoyed two good wins over Connacht and Munster to qualify for the Final against 2017 Inter-Provincial League Champions Leinster. The final was a fiercely contested match, with both defences dominating, the teams were all-square right up to the final couple of minutes. Leinster finally made the breakthrough and went on to win but credit to both teams for a great display of skill and determination.
I think we were all surprised by how physical and competitive the game is and look forward to our next opportunity to see the Ulster Team in action. We were delighted to to be able to support the team through the provision of new hurls and training tops this season and hope to continue to assist them in the years ahead.
Our thanks especially to Geraldine McGarrigle and coach Paul Callaghan for giving us the opportunity to help this year. Congratulations to the whole squad for another good year, we have no doubt you'll be back stronger than ever in 2018 and will be looking to reclaim your crown.
